We recently purchased a new picnic table for our garden and the packing came with lots of Styrofoam. So I wondered whether I could make a nice use out of it before it goes to the waste. I had a look at my bible aka Pinterest, and I found out that you could make an adorable artwork with it. So I decided to try it out with my 3-year-old daughter.
What You'll Need:
Styrofoam
Marker
Something sharp to puncture holes - we used a screw driver
Paint - we used acrylic paints
Paint brush or roller
Paper
Step 1 - Using a marker pen, get your child to make a cute drawing. I recommend something very simple, without much details.
Step 2 - Follow the lines and puncture holes.
Step 3 - Apply paint, cover the entire surface with paint.
Step 4 - Take your paper and gently place the paper over the styrofoam. Smooth with hands to get a nice even distribution of paint.
What do you think? I quite like the effect the Styrofoam makes and I'm thinking of using this fish artwork for my daughter's upcoming birthday party invitation card.
As you can see from the above steps, it is so so so easy to make so do give it a try! We would love to see what you come up with xx
